Homemade Almond Milk

Makes 750ml

  • Nut milk bag (can purchase these online, from health food stores or even stores such as the source bulk foods)

  • 1 cup of nut of choice (my go to is almonds as they are most affordable, however cashews, macadamias, walnut or hazel nuts work very well too.

  • 1 litre of filtered water

  • ¼ tsp of good quality salt (Celtic salt or pink Himalayan sea salt)

  1. Soak 1 cup of nuts over night in filtered water or for about 2 hours – this is what makes the nuts really creamy and also activates them

  2. Drain the nuts then add them to a blender with 1 litre of filtered water and the sea salt

  3. Blend on high for 1- 2 minutes or until completed ground.

  4. Poor into a nut milk bag then store in sterile glass containers

  5. And guess what! You don’t need to waste the nuts after you have made the milk. Use the nuts to make my choc raw balls or even my breakfast choc chia mousse pudding.
